Survivor veteran Courtney Yates was on the New York City subway train that derailed on Tuesday, but luckily came away unharmed.

Though fans may have a hard time separating Survivor players from their real lives, they do the things we all do. They go to work, riding the subway to their jobs or wherever else during the day. For Survivor: China and Heroes vs. Villains alum Courtney Yates, a mundane ride on a New York City subway on Tuesday took a scary turn.

As reported by The New York Times, two subway cars between 125th and 135th street careened off of the tracks after the emergency brake was activated. There was extensive damage to both the track, tunnel and cars. And obviously, the passengers on the always crowded cars had to endure a frightening moment.

Courtney was one of those passengers, sending out this tweet during the accident:

Again according to the report from The New York Times, 34 people were treated for injuries following the derailment. Luckily, Courtney was not among those hurt in the accident, sending out this tweet later:

For those having a hard time imagining the scene and why Courtney would say that it was like a horror movie, take a look at some images and footage from the derailment when some 800 people were sent out into the tunnel to get to safety:

While there’s not a great deal of clarity about what actually happened on the subway to cause the derailment, we’re certainly glad that Courtney walked away unscathed — and that there were no casualties from the accident, surely.
