1. Ozzy Lusth

To be completely honest, yours truly is of two minds on Ozzy. On the one hand, he’s played four times and has never won (like Cirie, who also played for her fourth time on Game Changers), meaning that he’s part of a select group of players, the ones that we still talk about to this day. Furthermore, he holds the title of “most days in Survivor” because he came back for those third and fourth tries in South Pacific and Game Changers. That’s impressive, and I can’t really deny it as a fan of the game.

But I’ve also argued that players like Ozzy shouldn’t come back for a fifth time, and I’d also like to argue that Ozzy has never been able to quite match the glory of his Cook Islands days where he lost exactly one individual immunity challenge and came extremely close to winning the whole game. Sure, he pulled off some impressive feats in both South Pacific and Game Changers, but he still didn’t win.

There’s no argument that Ozzy’s still one of the best physical players to ever grace the game. It’s actually a little ridiculous! But that still doesn’t mean that he might have been better if he’d left his first two games as his only games.

Surviving Tribal is going to keep looking at the rest of Micronesia — and who knows, maybe even some more retro Survivor before Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers in September!
