Can you beat the guest of this trivia podcast? With Spencer Bledsoe from Survivor Cagayan and Survivor Cambodia, Beat My Guest is a must-listen.

There’s a reason why Spencer Bledsoe was on the Brains Tribe in Survivor Cagayan; he’s a smart cookie. He was an Economics student when he first came to play, but by the end of Survivor Cambodia, he transformed himself from student of the game to an excellent strategist. You have to have a certain amount of cunning to escape as many deep holes as he did, in both seasons.

His cynical wit and self-awareness makes him a perfect participant for the “Beat My Guest” podcast, a weekly quiz podcast run by ESPN Fantasy MLB writer AJ Mass. Mr. Mass is no stranger to the world of Survivor, as he participated in a few Rob Has A Podcast sessions with Survivor Amazon and All-Stars‘ Rob Cesternino, including one about the archetypes of Kaoh Rong.

Here’s how Beat My Guest works: participants are given four questions in four separate rounds. There are multiple difficulty levels per category, with contestants picking the number of points they want to compete for in that category. The more points on the line, the harder the question, and you can only answer one question difficulty level once per round. There’s also a halftime 10-point bonus. Fans at home can play along, with the main point of the podcast seeing if you can beat host AJ Mass’s guest each week.

When it comes to trivia questions, however, the first half must have been a painful flashback to the hardships of the Brain Tribe. No matter what topic, Spencer Bledsoe blanked on question after question. It set up a dire comeback situation in the second half by earning points in the halftime section, a task not unlike his Cagayan redemption!

I won’t fully give away the second half, but you should absolutely check out Spencer Bledsoe’s full Beat My Guest podcast episode for yourself, especially for a Survivor tidbit on the Confidence question.
