Survivor: Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers will only have an hour for its premiere tonight, but it should be packed. Here’s the preview and how to watch.

Survivor: Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers has just an hour, according to its published synopsis, to introduce fans to the next round of 20 players all hoping to make it 39 days and win the million-dollar prize.

That means that things will move quickly, since the show now only has an hour to get in a challenge, the usual start to the game and any early strategic developments … oh, and those personalities, too. Can’t forget those.

As for that published synopsis though, linked above, here is what CBS has said about this episode:

"The castaways battle to prove which group has what it takes to win – Heroes, Healers or Hustlers. Also, one tribe will earn an advantage when the game is immediately “ignited” by the season’s first challenge, and there is a super idol that comes with a new twist, on the 35th season premiere of SURVIVOR, Wednesday, Sept. 27 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network."

35 seasons is a hefty benchmark for any show, and to see one like Survivor make it there is pretty great. Whether or not Jeff Probst, our illustrious host, will comment on it is up in the air, since it’s not another 10-season mark, but … it is the show’s seasonal jade or coral anniversary, at least according to Hallmark. That’s pretty fancy for a reality TV show! (We fully expect he will not actually go that far, though. Just something about the milestone will suffice.)

Will we get to see the players talk about more than just their tribal designation and what it means to them? Possibly, but don’t count on it, and don’t count on all 20 getting that much screen time, either. If you’re not sure on how to read an episode and what it means in terms of who gets the spotlight, though, we here at Surviving Tribal will be breaking it all down through the week.

It’s time to head back out to the island … at least on TV.
