The Survivor gods don’t care about the best-laid plans, which was what players talked about after Survivor season 35 episode 4 aired Wednesday night.
When a tribe swap occurs, chaos is at the forefront. Players had a game plan eight days in, and everything goes to hell when Jeff Probst says, “Everyone, drop your buffs.” That became the focus of social media reactions to Survivor season 35 episode 4, “I Don’t Like Having Snakes Around,” with former players offering up their hot takes on the momentous hour that was.
CBS did not waste any time getting things going, as Jeff Probst was saying “everyone, drop your buffs” almost immediately. Jessicole stays together, while former Survivor players reminisce about good and bad swap stories.
And away we go....@survivorcbs #SurvivorHHH

The new tribes consist of Alan Ball, Ashley Nolan, Desi Williams, Devon Pinto and Joe Mena on Levu (blue buff), Ali Elliott, Chrissy Hofbeck, JP Hilsabeck, Roark Luskin and Ryan Ulrich on Soko (yellow buff) and Ben Driebergen, Cole Medders, Jessica Johnston, Lauren Rimmer and Dr. Mike Zahalsky on Yawa (red buff).

Yawa, with three Healers, wasted no time in continuing their winning ways, swiping away peanut butter and jelly sandwiches plus potato chips as a reward.
#DropYourBuffs if you play your cards right...go find an idol under a table! Ha! Worked out for me! #SURVIVOR

What the rest of the Yawa tribe didn’t know (at first) was that Jessica had a secret advantage hidden in her chip bag, allowing her to block the vote at the next Tribal Council. Much like the Super Idol, if her tribe didn’t go after the next Immunity Challenge, she had to will the “advantage” to someone else on a different tribe.
Unfortunately, Cole can’t keep anything a secret and betrays Jessica’s trust for the second time in as many episodes.
Got damn Cole loose lips sink ships 😒

Over at the Soko tribe, Ryan confirms to Chrissy that he helped her out in the beginning, which helped sew a bit of trust between the two.

Over at the Levu tribe, it’s a battle of the egos as Alan and Joe start to make their moves. After they lose the Immunity Challenge, it’s just a contest to see who can out-confident each other, as Alan plays for psychological manipulation and Joe tries to correctly play his idol on himself.
I hope Alan don’t do nothing cray on this tribe 😫😫😫 Idk why I’m all nervous 🤷🏽♀️😫😫😫😂 #survivor #SurvivorHHH

Once Tribal Council rolled along, Devon revealed his secret advantage willed to him by Jessica, showing he couldn’t vote at that Tribal Council. We could have been subject to a rock draw, but instead, we saw Joe correctly bait Alan and Ashley to vote for him, pulling off an expert Immunity Idol play.
