Now that almost everyone has gone to Tribal Council once, Survivor season 35 episode 5 shows where voting lines are drawn, while former players react.

When one player doesn’t go to Tribal Council until late in the game, they usually have an advantage over others. Cirie Fields could have potentially won Game Changers, as she did not go until the merge. Michele Fitzgerald didn’t go to Tribal Council until one elimination after the merge due to Neal’s medevac. For the voted-out Survivor season 35 episode 5 castaway, however, things just didn’t go their way.

Former players took to Twitter to talk about everything that happened during the latest episode, starting with Levu reeling off a brutal, contentious vote. Joe actually gets credit for how he played, too.

The next day, we got to see Ben Driebergen pour his heart out after dealing with some post-traumatic effects from the bamboo crackling in the fire. This is clearly a hugely important moment for him and the Survivor Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers theme, as we get to see a potential winner struggle through something many take for granted.

Things picked up to Day 13 quite quickly after the first commercial, as the Reward Challenge picked up and the three tribes competed for ice coffee and pastries. Ryan was quickly shown to say he didn’t care about the food that would go through them, but karma quickly bit him in the butt as he loses the challenge for his tribe.

Now that he painted a big target on his back, Ryan wanted to earn himself back in the good graces of his tribe by playing to his social game strength. It would be a telling passage the later we got into the episode, as Ryan was playing from behind the 8-ball the entire episode.

As Soko stays hungry, Cole keeps too well fed, getting on the nerves of his tribe’s castaways.

While everyone’s distracted over that, Mike goes off to look for an idol alongside Jessica and is quite successful almost immediately! They really need to mix things up in terms of hiding the idol, as this one was also near the well.

At the Immunity Challenge, the three tribes had to carry heavy bags of rice through several obstacles, cut them open on a table and then move them up a swiss cheese maze. This time, it was Chrissy who wouldn’t swap out, forcing her tribe to head to Tribal Council on Night 14.

With Roark facing her first Tribal Council, we finally got to see where her head was at in the game. Unfortunately, as soon as we learned that she wanted Chrissy out, aka one of the best players per the Survivor edit so far this season (up until tonight, that is), we knew she was set to go home.

Still, it put Ryan right in the middle, and his comments about playing the social game did not really hold up this time. Plus, Chrissy was shown being sneaky and lying to bring JP in for the vote, making it hard on both players going forward.
