Survivor season 35 episode 6 commercial shows Cole’s arrogance

The hungry, hungry (far from a) hippo Cole Medders is the focus of Yawa negativity in the Survivor season 35 episode 6 commercial preview.

So far, Cole Medders’ arc in Survivor season 35, Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers, started out sweet and positive but has only nosedived since. After the first two episodes, he was shown to be the Golden God but soon after revealing to Jessica that Joe had the island, he proceeded to tell basically all the Healers on the island, then told Jessica’s secret to everyone, then was shown having disgusting eating habits.

Now the “doofus” edit is shifting towards cocky arrogance, as the commercial for Survivor season 35 episode 6, “This Is Why You Play Survivor,” focuses purely on his needs to survive above all others. Lauren had said he got on other peoples’ nerves in the previous episode, but now we see the full extent of what she’s been saying.

“Gluttony. Greed. Pride. These deadly sins could be his downfall.” That’s what the inserted text reads for this preview, with Cole showing the world why he thinks he’s above his tribe in energy needs. Though he may be right in that he’s not “getting enough food at all,” as his mighty spill indicates, there are better ways to carry yourself during a social game.

“I really need a bigger serving,” Cole explains. “Without me, there wouldn’t be any victory.” As Ben exclaims that Cole is “showing his true colors,” you can see the effect of food and water deficiency has on the most vascular players as Cole falls down while visibly shaking.

The amount of commercial coverage focusing on a possible major medevac in a way that telegraphs a “will he/won’t he” scenario has me thinking that we’ll see Cole make it all the way to the end of the episode. We’ll have to wait until November 1 at 8 p.m. ET to find out for ourselves.
