Being the first one out is never a fun feeling in Survivor. Francesca Hogi was candid in her Survivor AMA about her feelings being the only one to suffer the fate twice.
The Survivor 20s were an awkward time for the players, the show and the show’s fans. There were a fair number of dud casts, lame twists and bad boot orders, even though there are some individuals who scraped their way through the mediocrity and left an impact on the show. Fransesqua Francesca Hogi was not only part of two of the lowest-ranking seasons of Survivor history, but she was the first one voted out in both seasons.
Francesca Hogi offered up a bit of insight on those rough Survivor experiences in a Reddit AMA recently, giving a strong, no-holds-barred take on her experiences going through the game twice, comparisons to the two seasons and more.
One of the more startling recollections was about Russell Hantz during the Redemtpion Island season. Not only did he allegedly get drunk every day when he reached Ponderosa, but he kept jokingly trying to hook up with Francesca! To her, it was clear that the producers wanted Russell and Boston Rob to go far, and that other people were “disposable” to production, showing they don’t always get what they want.
Speaking of, both seasons Francesca was on produced winners who won big, but she only thinks one did way better during her three days on each island. She says Boston Rob “dominated from minute one,” while “Cochran almost got medevaced from sunburn.”

It’s that kind of confident demeanor that has fans asking for Francesca Hogi to play again, but unfortunately, she says should “wouldn’t return even if (Phillip) wasn’t playing at all.” While that’s a bummer for fans of hers, I wouldn’t want to go through the possibility of being the first one out for a third time in a row, either.
