Survivor Ghost Island Grammys promo is very, very short

We’re certainly expecting to hear more about Survivor Ghost Island this week, as a quick promo aired during the 2018 Grammys that lasted five seconds long.

Even though the wait between Survivor Ghost Island and whatever Survivor season 37 is will be two to three times as long as the jump between Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers and Ghost Island, it feels like the last season was forever ago. Perhaps it’s mostly due to the fans wanting to get over the lame Final 4 twist and proceed with something new that has people antsy.

Last week, we got our first glimpse at some of the 82 items from past Survivor seasons that will make their way to Ghost Island, as well as confirmation that players will be sent there away from the rest of their tribe (as fair as that may or may not be in the modern game). This weekend, we got our first glimpse of some new promotional footage, coming during the 2018 Grammys.

Jeff Pitman of True Dork Times has uploaded the brief clip, with an ominous voiceover stating, “One bad decision can haunt you forever.” The first image in the clip is of a hand lifting the top of the presumed voting urn, which is adorned with skulls protruding from the side of the urn. It then cuts to an ornate skull hanging over the Ghost Island shelter, complete with torch snuffers of past seasons, with the final shot of a fire and Fijian tiki statues mixed in.

Although the commercials for each season have an image that is unique to marketing and promos, the showing of the two palm trees, a player in the middle, a torch and an outline of a skull is a cool visual image, hopefully preparing the audience for a grimmer visual style.
