Let’s take a look at the castaways’ first reactions to this upcoming season’s twist with the Survivor Ghost Island premiere promo.

It feels like it was a long time since Survivor graced our television, computer and smartphone screens on Wednesday nights. Even though it’s been six weeks, the unbearable cold facing the majority of North Americans has made the heart grow fonder for the Fijian islands. Thankfully, the first Survivor Ghost Island premiere promo is here to warm us up to the season’s big twist.

We get to see confessionals from Domenick Abbate, Stephanie Johnson, Chris Noble, Angela Perkins and Kellyn Bechtold, each reiterating their thoughts about Ghost Island. For those who have missed out, Survivor Ghost Island will see 20 players compete in a season where players are sent to a “Ghost Island” from time to time. There, they will sleep in a shelter adorned with torch snuffers from past seasons and, on occasion, participate in games of chance in order to win strength in the game. Those advantages will take the physical form of idols and powers that caused players in the past to lose the game.

That’s why the Survivor Ghost Island premiere episode is called “Can You Reverse the Curse?” It perfectly captures the mentality of the players as they hear about the cursed island. It scares Domenick “tremendously,” it caused Stephanie’s mind to explode, it has Angela questioning if those past decisions will haunt her, too, and has Kellyn afraid not of ghosts, but of Ghost Island.

Obviously, these quotes are hand-picked by the marketing team in order to hype up the ghoulish theme of the season, but that doesn’t mean it’s not an exciting promo! From an edgic standpoint, it also guarantees that at least five of the 20 players won’t be completely invisible in the premiere, unlike Simone Nguyen who was invisible in the Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers opening episode.
