A hypothetical debate conversation had among Survivor fans throughout the years, Jeff Probst has considered bringing actually returning a season’s cast.
When people talk about r.obbed g.oddesses, (un)fair twists or gameplay themes in Survivor, often the conversation focuses on individual cases. Frankly, we’ve brought up the Final Four twist from last season enough times, just like we brought up advantagegedon after Game Changers. As host Jeff Probst prepares for Survivor Ghost Island by talking to the pre-game press, he reminded us that sometimes we need to think more about the big picture.
Probst talked to Gordon Holmes for Xfinity TV, in which he was asked a series of questions that he had never been asked before. The final question asked about if an entire cast could have their minds erased and replayed one more time, who he would bring back. While Probst rattled off a few seasons he would bring back (the majority being returnee seasons), he did indicate that it’s not the first time he’s thought about it.
Upon being asked if he’s ever looked into bringing back an entire cast, he answered, “We’ve talked about it.” While that’s no promise that Jeff Probst wants to bring back an entire season back to Survivor, it does open up the conversation for fans. Particularly, what would be the perfect season to bring back?
The further back in time you go, the harder it becomes to pull off the feat. For example, doing Survivor Borneo over once more is a legal and logistical impossibility, as Rudy would never pass a physical now, Colleen hasn’t been seen in public in years and Stacey sued CBS over her elimination. Furthermore, CBS will never, ever bring Skupin back to the show for very obvious reasons.
