Amid all the chaos of the Survivor Ghost Island merge, one player made history in the kind of way you hope never to accomplish in this game.

Warning: We will openly discuss the results of Survivor Ghost Island episode 8, including who was sent home.

There seems to be a model curse going on in Survivor. Even though Fabio Birza won Nicaragua, overall there seems to be an ongoing theme with model characters at the merge; they become the first to be voted out. However, for some, they’ve brought strength, endurance and puzzle leadership in challenges that it means they make the merge without ever becoming a voting option.

Such was the case for Chris Noble, who left Ghost Island the same night he first visited Tribal Council. The professional model used his “rock-throwing” skills he gained as a younger athlete to help bring Naviti and Yanuya stay away from elimination, and he was stowed away on Ghost Island on the only time his tribe lost. He was eliminated as soon as he became an option, but not without making Survivor history.

Chris Noble became the first person ever to be voted out of this game without a vote of their own. Having risked (and lost) his vote in a game of chance at Ghost Island, he officially gave a No Vote, and will not vote again until picking a winner.

More from Ghost Island

Previously, players like Kourtney Moon and Dana Lambert had been medically evacuated before attending Tribal Council, but that excludes the “voted out” portion. Other non-Tribal, non-vote players include Jonathan Libby and Wanda Shirk, both of which weren’t chosen in the schoolyard pick from Survivor Palau.

Additionally, Chris Noble ties Nick Maiorano and Michele Fitzgerald as the players with the most amount of days before reaching Tribal Council for the first time. Making it to Day 22 has been a curse for both models Nick and Chris, but was a pretty good deal for Michele as she went on to win Kaoh Rong. There have been 15 players to make the merge without visiting Tribal Council, but only Chris did it without winning Immunity every single time before the merge.

As we saw with Lauren’s 1-0 elimination last season, players are still finding new ways to make new records. For Chris Noble, unfortunately, he’s not setting the kinds of records you want to be best remembered for.
