You can tell that Gabby Pascuzzi from Survivor: David vs. Goliath is tuned into the fandom, as she trolls us all with an “important announcement” today.

It seemed like the full Survivor: David vs. Goliath cast would be officially revealed earlier this week. CBS tweeted out that we’re a month away on Monday, cast reveals usually come at noon on a Wednesday, and the full cast has been leaked for a while now. Instead, the current cast acknowledgment stays at 8 of 20 after the early previews back in May.

One of those players featured in the Ghost Island reunion preview is Gabby Pascuzzi; a writer from Denver, CO. In preparation for our list of David vs. Goliath players’ Twitter and Instagram accounts, I noticed that Gabby offered a surprising teaser on her Instagram story. “Exciting announcement at 12 p.m. ET!,” the post read, hinting at what one might assume would be the cast reveal.

Instead, as 12 p.m. ET crossed, we got the official announcement that her local grocery store sells Red Lobster biscuit mix and that she’s going to make some later tonight. “Gotta #Riskit for the #biscuit,” she followed up (quoting Kellyn Bechtold from the most recent Survivor season), ending with a look at the finished product for dinner (it looked tasty).

It’s no secret that most people in the online Survivor community expected some sort of cast reveal this week, and it looks like that’s not going to happen. Of course, even though we know Gabby will compete in David vs. Goliath, she can’t comment about it due to her non-disclosure agreement with CBS (*cough Alec and Kara cough*).

In effect, Gabby was able to feed into the online Survivor community’s theorycrafting at large by teasing an announcement at noon, and it ends up being an elaborate troll that doesn’t break her contract. That’s the kind of self-awareness you can’t help but admire.
