Survivor behind-the-scenes look comes from … Farrah Abraham?
It wasn’t a production member that first revealed what may be the first look at a future Survivor season, but a celebrity who happens to be in Fiji.
Update: A member of the Survivor community has brought forth some information to suggest that it may not be Survivor season 37 being filmed, but perhaps an international edition. For now, we’ve removed as many contextual suggestions of it being the upcoming season of the US show.
Original: Though it’s not bringing viewers in the eight digits anymore, there is still a bit of a veiled secrecy behind the production of Survivor. The last thing that production wants is for the general audience to be spoiled on what’s next for the show until they provide the first tease months in advance. Unfortunately, you can’t stop everybody and anything from fate, with another reality star ending up being the leaker this time.
Farrah Abraham is one of the original mothers of decade-old reality show 16 and Pregnant, who has become something of a socialite since then. She recently took her daughter on vacation in Fiji, which just so happens to be in the middle of filming for Survivor. Instead of just acknowledging that the secretive production is underway, she innocently shared the first glimpse of the season to her followers on Twitter.
In the one image provided, it looks like two platforms are at one end in the ocean, there are two baskets for players to throw baskets in and there is a huge blue and red tower with two beams behind it. To be honest, it doesn’t look like a completed challenge, and with no cameras around I wouldn’t be surprised if production was striking/creating the set. You can see a shakier look on Instagram.
The idea of a reality personality providing the first look at one of the most secretive reality shows is an irony that doesn’t escape me but it is quite fitting seeing how Farrah Abraham competed in Celebrity Big Brother over in the UK. Considering how late in April these photos and videos were taken, my guess is that this is some sort of reward challenge with two teams representing the starting blue and red colors.

With the castaways likely still in Fiji, it shouldn’t be too long before we get the first batch of information about the Survivor season 37 castaways themselves. For now, keep in mind that players will be sinking baskets at some point late into the competition in a future season of some version of the show.
