Survivor Ghost Island episode 13 secret scene: A pirate’s (solitary) life

Survivor Ghost Island has not always delivered on a fun, heartbreaking or memorable experience, with the episode 13 secret scene showing why.

In a perfect world, watching Survivor should be a guessing game on who will win all the way to the end. However, there are always going to be players like a Sebastian or an Angela that make nary a splash in the game and just go with the flow, destined to get obscured in shadow while power players like Domenick and Wendell are lampshaded.

That’s why it makes sense that the most recent Survivor Ghost Island secret scene for episode 13 got chopped down into a more truncated experience, as it highlights some odd elements about the game that hasn’t made it to the season’s regular edit. Furthermore, Sebastian’s pirate attitude doesn’t do much to further the story of the episode, which decidedly focuses on Donathan’s implosion.

“Strategically, Dom and Wendell are now my boys,” Sebastian explains, clearly indicating why this part of the episode was cut. Even though he wants to ride their “boy train” (slash fanfic writers are going to have a field day with this), this part of their dynamic has been absent from the edit, showing why we didn’t get extended pirate times from Sea Bass on Ghost Island.

We also got a better look at Sebastian just interacting with everything on the island, seeing him try ten times to smash his urn and just offering guttural reactions to everything involved in his game of chance. You also get to see a cameraman jump into the shot on the right-hand side as Sebastian reads about the improved odds.

Overall, Sebastian had so little impact on the episode (and the season at large), giving the editors a reason to cut this scene down so they could show Donathan getting paranoid and other general shenanigans. Such is the life of a Survivor Ghost Island castaway on the outskirts of contention.
