Part-time comedian, part-time lumberjack Nick Offerman talked Survivor on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, bringing up how he’d play the game.

About once a year, we get unfairly teased by Jeff Probst or someone in production about the possibility of a celebrity version of Survivor. We’ve even talked about our realistic possibilities and casting options in the past, drawing upon television personalities, athletes, comedians and general A-B-listers that Jeff Probst personally knows.

In our oversight, we overlooked ongoing fans Nick Offerman (Parks and Recreation, Fargo) and Megan Mullaly (Will and Grace, Party Down). Nick Offerman took things one step further by dedicating a major chunk of his interview on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to talk about how he’d play if he was ever cast for the show.

The question came up after host Stephen Colbert whipped out a picture of Nick Offerman and Megan wearing their Yanuya and Naviti buffs (respectively). Nick then dove into his appreciation for the show, talking about how it was (and is) a great reality program before those shows “became crappy.”

From there, he just dove into how he’d do if he ever competed on Survivor. He’d be the guy building a water wheel and making other stuff as the teams make shelter, similar to how Wendell Holland started out Survivor Ghost Island; as the interior designer. He does admit his downfall is his social game, as he’d be one of the reality show contestants that probably “tell it like it is.”

Unfortunately, when asked if Megan Mullaly would ever compete on Celebrity Survivor, he said it’s unlikely because of the whole it being a survival competition that’s not “in of doors.” Still, Nick did what the likes of Jimmy Fallon, Dominic Monaghan and others have done and talked about our favorite reality competition and give us false hope that a celebrity season would be good!
