The player who has held onto the Legacy Advantage for the shortest time period is none other than Survivor Ghost Island’s Morgan Ricke. Should she return?

I remember being quite fond of Morgan Ricke before the season started. She seemed smart, cunning and able to dig deep or stab someone in the back if it meant getting her further in the game. Unfortunately, she was subject to one of the strongest pre-merge moves from a player in the minority alliance, being the first Naviti player victim to the “Naviti Strong” mantra.

(Our previous “should they return” pieces: Stephanie Gonzalez, Jacob Derwin)

Ghost Island’s first trinket was the worst opening advantage a season’s player could receive. It was Sarah Dawn Thomas’ Legacy Advantage from Game Changers, except now Jacob could only will it away to another player. Something about Morgan was alluring to him, as he sent the power over on Day 4 before the two ever got to meet up.

Unfortunately, Jacob Derwin’s elimination from Ghost Island sent the tribes into disarray, as Day 7 brought the first swap. Morgan stayed with Naviti, sporting a 5-4 advantage alongside Chris, Angela, Domenick and Wendell. The one downside to the obvious plan? Chris Noble was so much of a pain to the tribe that the core Naviti players were planning to blindside his no. 2; Angela Perkins.

Another wrinkle; Morgan bonded with Libby (the original vote target) over their shared faith. The two became really close really quick, although both came to play the game. However, because she, Domenick and Wendell approached the original Malolo four to make a move, they showed their poker hand to James Lim, who was out there playing 3D chess.

Angela’s “stick to the plan” vote was for Libby, while Morgan, Domenick and Wendell thought Malolo would vote out Angela. Instead, as they bought into Libby’s presumed sweet innocence and even pondered how someone so great could lie, the Malolo four led by James Lim threw their votes onto Morgan, deceiving everyone and thwarting Naviti’s power in the game (for one vote).
