He went from competing for an NFL roster spot to fighting it out for a million dollars on Survivor. Now Alan Ball is back playing football for a million.

It’s exceptionally hard to become an NFL player, and it’s even harder to maintain a long, illustrious career once you get there. That’s why Alan Ball was out of a main roster spot on all 32 teams by the age of 30, as the defeat of an early career led him to other opportunities such as Survivor Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers.

Competing for a million dollars is an admirable task for an athletic dude, but if you would have told me that Alan Ball would be doing it twice in the same year he appeared on Survivor, I would have thought you were crazy. Last night, Alan and the Godspeed team of former NFL pros competed against America’s Champion team, Fighting Cancer, in the American Flag Football League Championship.

You can check out the full game’s highlights below, with both teams rising through the playoffs to face off in a chance to become the Ultimate Final winners and split a million-dollar price between the 12 players on the roster. It’s safe to say that somehow, Alan Ball’s best performance in the past 12 months was actually on Survivor, as he made a couple of key misplays.

At 3:51, he comes in to tackle the quarterback, yet he gives up his coverage in the end zone, allowing the QB to float a toss over him and take a commanding lead. Furthermore, at 4:40 he makes a big, commanding semi-tackle into a swipe at a player running into him, but he can’t grab the flags off his belt, resulting in a touchdown off a missed play.

Though his team, Godspeed, didn’t win the American Flag Football League Championship, Alan Ball was able to pull off a sick interception in a game weeks ago. Anything to pad the 2017-2018 highlight reel, including his stint on Survivor!
