Months after winning a million dollars, Survivor’s Wendell Holland is donating his time and efforts to the Treasure Beach Basketball camp, providing for the people.

Wendell Holland continues to embody his hometown of Philadelphia well after Survivor Ghost Island had aired. Whether he’s representing Philly in hometown interviews or keeping it local with his Beve Unlimted furniture business, he does well to represent the interests of the city of brotherly love.

Despite winning the million dollars, Wendell Holland looks to keep things consistent to how things were before the show. However, there are benefits that come with his cup of coffee with fame, as he can direct followers to his charitable interests.

Wendell Holland tweeted out he will be volunteering with the Philadelphia Men’s Basketball League in a coaching expedition to Treasure Beach, Jamaica. The goal is to raise funds to provide food, comfort, support and mentorship to campers ahead of the five-day camp from August 13 to August 17. You can donate here at this link if you would like to show your support.

Previous crowdfunding campaigns saw the camp raise enough money to receive solar-powered lighting, an irrigation system, 12 basketball hoops, four sets of bleachers and team benches and an industrial motor to keep the grounds clean and proper. Roughly 50 coaches and basketball leaders will be flying over to Jamaica besides Wendell Holland, including an NBA referee.

It’s great to see that the winnings haven’t changed the recent sole Survivor or who he is. We’ve seen multiple times how people have either squandered their money, haven’t paid their taxes on it, gone to jail or worse, as being on the forefront of reality television and having millions of people watching your actions has an impact on people.

Thankfully, that doesn’t seem to be the case for Wendell Holland, as the man looks to teach basketball to some kids looking for leadership. Again, here is the link to show your support for the efforts.
