Pop singer and songwriter Sia has become a second benefactor for Survivor players that go through tough journeys, including Donathan Hurley.
Celebrity Survivor fans come in many different forms and shapes. Some, like Tyler Perry, influence the direction of seasons with their suggestions, such as pitching a Super Idol you can only play on yourself. Others like pop singer and songwriter Sia even hand players their money, as they are moved by their stories and the journey they took while competing on the island.
Donathan Hurley was the latest player to receive the benefit of being one of Sia’s favorite players, receiving $10,000 from her personal coffers. Though the assumption was that the money was going towards his family, it’s become clear that she wanted him to enjoy himself and have a bit of fun amid being a responsible caregiver.
Thankfully, Donathan found a solution that fills both roles, as he revealed on Twitter earlier this week that he will be heading out to the “Oasis of the Seas” cruise with his second family. Embarking on the Royal Caribbean sounds like a fun adventure, especially for a player who just a year ago spent their entire life in Eastern Kentucky.
Donathan’s family life became a plot beat during Survivor Ghost Island, as he opened up about his second family at the Loved Ones Visit reward. Plus, the world was introduced to Aunt Patty; a formidable force to be reckoned with that had even mastermind Domenick Abbate quaking in his boots should he double-cross her boy!
His entire Survivor Ghost Island story was about breaking out of his shell, conquering his doubts and opening up his eyes to the world at large, and he might not have had an opportunity to continue to do so alongside his second family were it not for Sia’s selfless act. Though some may question her methods, the results have been great so far.
