5. Ashley Roach (last week: 6th)
Once again Ashley is only ranked above Alex G. While it may have seemed like a losing move when she would not allow her alliance to vote out Alex G, now it appears as if this is giving her an out to win.
I would say that Ashley is for sure not going to win Survivor Maryland. However, if you are looking at the game in real-time, and not looking into the editing or anything else, she would have equity in the game, albeit a small equity. There are plenty of other targets to be taken out; I think she would not have too much of an issue saving Alex G for a few more weeks. There is no reason why Eric should not go home before Alex.
She knows that people do not perceive her extremely well, she has to know that she will lose to her closest ally Holli in the end. This means that she is aware that she needs to play this endgame with some flashy moves for her resume, whereas Alex G incorrectly believes that he already has a solid argument.
At the end of the day, Ashley has really impressed me this season when you compare her game to her previous season. She plays a little emotionally but has been a worthy character to make it this far, especially after we have seen her take a stand like in the Shannon boot.
6. Alex Genuario (last week: 7th)
Alex G rounds out these power rankings once again. He was once again fortunate that immunity was given to him, and this makes it seem like he was carried to the end even more. We even see Victoria and Chris Thomas joking about Alex G’s challenge inability after they saved him once again.
We are seeing Alex G trying to make a move on his alliance that saved him now, likely meaning an attempt to take out Chris Thomas this week. It is nice to see him finally wanting to make a mark on the game, but it is too little too late for me.
One argument you could make is that if he goes to the end and puts Victoria and Chris on the jury, he could have the jury votes from the other four members of the “bottom alliance.” However, the only person I think he could legitimately take multiple votes off of is Ashley, and I still see him losing out.
I am interested to see where Alex G finishes once it is all said and done, but this finish is not going to be as the winner of Survivor Maryland.
