Just when things were looking high and dry, the Survivor: David vs. Goliath episode 3 press photos bleed once more into the rain.

Death. Taxes. Orange tribes performing horribly in Survivor.

These are the constants of 2018, as David vs. Goliath enters its third episode with the purple Goliath tribe at full strength and the orange David tribe down its strongest and most sociable players, respectively. It’s going to take a lot for them to escape from that hole, and with no tribe swap coming, there’s no escaping the fallout from last episode’s blindside.

This is the face of two fairly dejected players, both on the opposing end of a blindside. Jessica was taken out due to her relationships with Bi and Carl, separately, so that puts Davie in an odd spot. He’s still a victim, even though he wasn’t the target.

At least Davie’s trying to integrate with those who blindsided him, even though it looks like someone has a gun pointed to his head. He’s doing better than Bi and Carl, as those two are not often present in the Survivor: David vs. Goliath episode 3 press photos.

Meanwhile, at the Goliath camp, the pretty people are either crabbing or finding a reason to have a strategy session. Dan, John and Kara might be a fun, interesting partnership going forward, even if Kara’s just using them as part of the new-look Goliath Witches Coven.

What’s interesting about this photo is who’s not in it. Unless they’re blocked by someone else, Angelina Keeley is not here as the rest of the Goliath tribe is hanging out. Even Natalia and Natalie are hanging out right beside each other.

Whatever fun in the sun there was on Day 7 (or Day 8), it’s completely gone in time for the challenge. As the David tribe showcases, it looks like Rainmegedon is back in Fiji.

To start the challenge, four competitors per tribe will need to run and untangle their ropes connected to a series of obstacles. It’s a Survivor staple, at this point.

It looks as though those four ropes will conjoin in the middle or, at least, for the middle three competitors. You can also see more in-action photos of the rainfall and its impact during challenges.
