Survivor: David vs. Goliath episode 5 promo teases historical event
If you pay attention to the clues in the Survivor: David vs. Goliath episode 5 promo, you would see hints of an event that has happened only once before.
Warning: This post will show the Survivor: David vs. Goliath episode 5 promo video for “Jackets and Eggs,” while speculating on a likely event that happens during the episode.
It’s hard to ignore the cyclone-sized elephant in the room; Survivor: David vs. Goliath has been as much a story of human vs. human as human vs. nature. Harkening back to classic seasons, the hardship that comes with surviving on bare necessities has doubled, at least, due to the harsh, unrelenting rain.
Episode 5 might be the harshest the weather has been yet, as the promo for the episode showcases the destruction Mother Nature can bring to players competing for a million dollars on a reality show. There are also a few “blink-and-you’ll-miss-it” moments in the commercial below that hint as something that has only happened once in Survivor history.
At the six-second mark, you can see the Vuku tribe led by Elizabeth, Kara and Alec walking to their destroyed tribe, followed by Angelina of the Jabeni tribe commenting, “Our shelter is obliterated.” The looks from Nick and Angelina are of shock, though, suggesting that the tribes will be evacuated from their shelter overnight similar to that seen in the first episode of Millennials vs. Gen X.
During that season, the players needed to leave their camps due to a cyclone, with huge logs and branches falling on the tribe’s shelter. It was clear that the players were at a major risk for bodily harm or, possibly, death, so the producers took the tribes to separate parts of their base camp, gave them no extra supplies beyond the cover of tent tarp and sent them back the next morning.
Finally, this Survivor: David vs. Goliath episode 5 promo ends with accusations of bullying from Natalie towards Nick, and this is where the season’s quality reaches its first test. Bullying was rampant in Worlds Apart, dragging down what could have been a potentially amazing season. David vs. Goliath has been stellar so far; let’s hope whatever happens next doesn’t tarnish that.
