Survivor: David vs. Goliath episode 5 – The castaway has spoken
Is a jacket worth a million dollars? Napalm Natalie revealed much about that conversation, as well as many other surprising details about Survivor: David vs. Goliath.
We’ve been treated with back-to-back dramatic Tribal Councils on Survivor: David vs. Goliath. First, we watched Alec whisper in Elizabeth’s ear to blindside Natalia, and then, the last episode brought us “Jacketgate!” Natalie Cole going home wasn’t the surprising part, it was Angelina’s devious antics in an attempt to retrieve a precious belonging. Let’s examine a few interesting details about this season that Natalie has shed light on during her exit interviews.
Angelina’s intentions were clear to Natalie. During her discussion with Rob Cesternino on RHAP, Natalie felt that Angelina was ingenuine and conniving throughout the season. So coming into Tribal, she already had a strong inkling that she was going home and that Angelina will be the mastermind behind the vote.
During another interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Natalie did say that she mentioned to Angelina she would consider giving her the jacket. However, plans changed and based on the apparent lies that she was receiving from Angelina, she said that there was no way she was handing over her jacket at the moment. That being said, Natalie did say that the jacket wasn’t worth a million dollars, and if she did pick up on how big of a deal the jacket was, she would have given it away earlier.
There was more to the Jeremy vote than we thought. It wasn’t a surprise that Natalie ripped into Jeremy during her exit interviews. She felt that Jeremy was rude, relentless and even abusive to her. Natalie even claimed that from day one, Jeremy played the race card. Jeremy was thinking that they were going to be the first two voted out because of their race, and he didn’t want to be first.
What was even more interesting is that Natalie confirmed a showmance between John and Angelina! This was a topic that Jeremy also commented on after his exit. This relationship has been very hush-hush since they both have their own personal commitments outside of the game.
However, according to Natalie’s exit interviews, Jeremy planned on spreading the news of this showmance, which made Angelina weary of him. So when Angelina was busy going around telling people to vote out Jeremy instead of Natalie, there was some personal motivation behind it.
A few other details we learned from Natalie’s comments were her strong alliance with John and the fact that Angelina’s manipulative attitude was transparent to the rest of the tribe. It will be interesting to see how these social relationships play out as the season continues!
