The original tribes have gone, Tiva remains undefeated and the Survivor: David vs. Goliath merge is here! A sneak peek preview sets the stage.

Another season of Survivor, another green expansion tribe that doesn’t go to Tribal Council. These two-to-three new green tribes have only lost two challenges in the show’s history if I recall correctly, but that does not matter anymore; David vs. Goliath are set to meet on the battlefield in the Valley of Elah Tiva beach.

The Survivor: David vs. Goliath merge episode preview video below shows that meeting on Day 18, with Tiva’s spot of tea and coffee on a lazy morning interrupted by the game entering the third, most crucial, stage. We even get to see Alison describe the moment and the game finally picking up, which might be emblematic of her slow-burn start this season.

There are small moments spread out throughout this merge preview video, including a public callout of the Brochachos from John and Dan over to Alec. This alliance is clearly not afraid to let everyone else know that they’re close, which is concerning for their fans. We also see Carl reiterate that he wants to get Elizabeth out after catching up on some much-needed booze.

We don’t have a better look at the merge buffs displayed in the episode’s press photos, which is kind of a bummer. However, even in this minute-plus of footage, we have people coming more out of their shell and throwing voting targets out before even eating at the merge feast. These Survivor: David vs. Goliath players have come to play, and they are coming out swinging.

“There’s Gonna Be Tears Shed” is a dire episode title for a merge episode, although it’s a bummer we don’t get a double-length episode that goes through two hours of non-stop gameplay. The season has been superb so far, so maybe it’s best not to ask too much more than what we’ve got already.
