8. Kara Kay

Kara’s in one of the weirdest spots right now. He has been tethered to Dan, for better for worse, and right now it’s put her in the worst position possible. She’s not viewed as a threat, strategically or socially, but she’s proven the latter is her strongest skill. She being tied to Dan does mean she can be voted out as the “safe” vote if the Davids figure out Dan has another idol.

As such, Kara’s full potential hasn’t been explored. The edit constantly reminds us of her even when she’s not driving the action. We know she’s going to try and take on a more active role alongside Alec Merlino based on the promo, so it could be the beginning of her end-game plan coming to fruition.

The problem with that is we don’t see that right now. Kara hasn’t been driving the action, wasn’t shown pushing back against Elizabeth being the vote target despite their shared appreciation of horsies and religious, and seems to have characterization based on serving Dan. I think we’re going to finally see that go away starting in episode 9, but with few episodes left in the season, there’s not much time to turn around Kara’s game persona.
