Survivor: David vs. Goliath episode 10: Stories to watch
We have a two-hour episode of Survivor: David vs. Goliath coming our way tonight. What can we expect, and what castaways should we watch out for?
Since the merge, the story of Survivor: David vs Goliath has been the same. It’s one tribe against the other, with the Davids using their slingshot of advantages to strike down Goliath after Goliath.
However, for the first time since having three tribes, the Davids and Goliaths are even at five castaways a piece. With two Tribal Councils in one episode, we can be sure that a lot will change. Here three stories to keep an eye on while watching tonight’s episode.
1) Will we see an alliance beyond tribal lines?
When the two tribes merged, we saw the birth of a potentially dangerous alliance. The Strike Force was a group of three Davids and three Goliaths working together in secret, ready to flip the game on its head when they had the numbers. However, that didn’t last too long as one of those Goliaths; Mike attempted to take out Christian who was also part of the Strike Force alliance.
That being said, all six members of this abandoned alliance are still in the game, so there is still a chance that we can see the Strike Force return. Mike seems pretty adamant about voting out Christian, so I can’t see him working with the Davids at this point. Alison has said a lot about joining the Davids, but I feel like she may have lost her chance after Nick stole her vote.
Alec has shown his willingness to help the Davids by even telling Nick who they were voting for ahead of Tribal Council. He is just waiting for the perfect opportunity to act on his relationships with Nick and Christian. The person to watch for is Kara. With Dan now gone, I could see her trying to play her own game by aligning with David members moving forward.
2) Is it time for a David to flip?
If you noticed in the paragraphs above, I listed only Goliath members who may be ready to work with the Davids. That’s because the Davids have been so solid as a tribe, freely sharing information with each other without the threat of one of them leaking their plans to the Goliaths.
However, we only have ten people left. The time will come for that tight-knit group of Davids to turn on each other, and tonight might just be the episode to see that transition go down. The preview after last week’s episode teased Carl arguing with Gabby. Could that be enough for the Davids to turn on Carl with some of the Goliaths’ help?
Or maybe we’ll see smart strategic players including Nick, Christian or Gabby form voting blocks with certain Goliath members to take out a big threat like Davie. Either way, with two Tribal Councils in one episode, tribal lines are ready to be shaken up.
3) Hidden Immunity Idols and secret advantages are waiting to be found!
Once again we were treated with a lively Tribal Council. One idol was played, along with a Vote Steal advantage, and of course the Idol Nullifier. That’s three in one night! With tonight’s episode covering six days of Survivor: David vs. Goliath, we can expect more advantages being put back in play.
Will we see another Idol Nullifier? I think one per season is enough, but you never know. I can see different advantage coming into play though, whether it is an extra vote, an advantage in a challenge or something else production has up their sleeve.
With Dan playing his idol, we only have Christian’s left in the game. The castaway who finds the next idol this late in the season could receive a huge boost to their game. I’m hoping for a Goliath to find the idol this time, especially if Alison or Alec could get their hands on it.
