The last two hours of Survivor: David vs. Goliath have been the most important hours of the game so far. We saw the battle of David vs. Goliath switched up, and tribal lines blurred, with Alec Merlino voted out first followed by Carl Boudreaux. The Davids and Goliaths are split up evenly once again, but the game has evolved beyond where you started.

Christian and Gabby made a big move to benefit their games, and hope to frame it in a way to take out Carl without any backlash. Unfortunately, it meant betraying Nick, his second-biggest ally in the game, and it meant taking out Davie’s closest ally. Clearly, it was a good move for Gabby, who was lied to about the voting target by Carl, but now Christian’s in a tough spot.

With Gabby considering blindsiding Christian as indicated in the episode’s promo, everybody wants a piece of the biggest threat to win in the game. However, almost everyone knows he has a Hidden Immunity Idol, and because he told them himself, it becomes a game of double-bluffing.

Tonight’s episode is called “So Smart They’re Dumb,” and the castaways will be competing for the Loved Ones’ visit reward. I’ve talked about the benefits and consequences of winning this challenge, as there have only been four season winners to win the Loved Ones’ Challenge as well. However, the solace of someone you can trust is tempting enough.
