We’re getting down to the nitty-gritty on Survivor: David vs. Goliath with only eight castaways left! This next vote will act as a statement to the jury.

The great thing about Survivor: David vs. Goliath is that each one of the eight remaining castaways has a decent chance at winning. There’s no clear-cut coattail riders or goats in this season, everyone has a drive to win and the ability to make big moves happen.

This is the point in the game where someone can emerge as a serious threat take home the million dollars and add some moves to their resume. Here are three of the biggest storylines to watch for in tonight’s episode that will impact who will be this season’s Sole Survivor.

1) The David civil war. Last vote marked the first time since Elizabeth that a David voted for another David. No doubt Nick and Davie feel blindsided by Christian and Gabby’s move to take out one of their own members. It was a statement that tribal lines are now blurred and it’s now everyone for themselves.

This point was further cemented in the episode 12 promo and the preview following last week’s episode. They even teased Gabby possibly wanting to blindside her closest friend out there in Christian! Whether or not that comes to fruition, the fact is, the game has blown wide open, setting up for a thrilling final three episodes.

2) Two idols left with only four Tribal Councils to use them. This is the time when the decision to play an idol or to hold it for another night can really change the game. All the Davids know that Christian has an idol, and I’m sure Davie and Nick won’t feel too bad about revealing that information after they blindsided Carl. If Christian doesn’t win immunity, there’s no way he will stay in this game without using his idol. That opens the door for another idol to be found at camp before the Final Five hits!

As for Nick’s Hidden Immunity Idol, it definitely holds more power as only Davie knows about it. At this point, it looks like Davie and Nick are tight and that probably won’t change till at least the Final Five. If they can successfully target the bigger threats including Christian and Alison, they might be able to hold onto their idol deeper into the game, which could propel Nick into a spot at Final Tribal.

3) Potential winners flying under the radar. Right now, Christian and Nick are playing winning games if they can get themselves into the Final Three. However, they are both serious threats and could very well be taken out in the next few Tribal Councils. That leaves the door open for other castaways who have been playing quiet but strong games.

For example, Kara is someone who has shown the yearning to make big moves but hasn’t really executed any to this point, until she aided in blindsiding Carl. She’s hasn’t made herself into a serious threat, so if she can survive unscathed in the next couple of Tribal Councils, Kara has the strength and ability to win a few immunities to secure her place at Final Tribal.

We also can’t forget about Mike, who has laid low during the past episode and might be ready to finally orchestrate voting out Christian. If Gabby does get involved in this plan to blindside her closest ally, her case for deserving the million could be set!
