She’s been present in the edit for quite some time, never quite making a big push. Could Kara Kay fight through the muck and win Survivor: David vs. Goliath?

When we were getting the rundown for Survivor: David vs. Goliath off the top of the first episode, we saw the designations of two groups; the socially awkward (cut to Gabby) and the social charmers (cut to Kara). The latter has embodied that mantra throughout the game, and she is poised to make a surprise run to the end … if everything falls correctly.

Kara’s chances of making Final Tribal

Considering Kara is the only Goliath woman left in the game who has never received a single vote at Tribal Council, she’s been in a great position throughout the entire game. She doesn’t have the best voting track record, but with a 4-2 majority on Goliath with the intent on getting out the Davids, she might skate by to the end.

She has an Immunity Challenge win under her belt, but she’s not the threat that Davie or Alison is to challenge beast their way to the end. Both of those players are deemed as ongoing threats, and Nick’s misplay of a Hidden Immunity Idol means there are too many players ahead of her as meat shields.

The only way I can foresee Kara not making it to the Final Tribal is if she loses the Final Four fire-making challenge. She hasn’t been seen making a fire in the edit like Alison recently, but I have noticed that to mitigate the heartbreak of a person not getting voted out but lost a stupid challenge that should only be a tie-breaker in the first place, Survivor has under-edited 4th place boots.

Kara’s chances of receiving votes at Final Tribal

If Kara makes it to the end of Survivor: David vs. Goliath, she will have a few votes locked up, guaranteed. Even though Dan was super salty about getting voted out and that Kara and Alec didn’t have his back by voting for Angelina, the one-sided showmance would clearly benefit Kara with a vote at the end. Same goes for Alec and Davie (if he’s voted out) unless Nick is sitting at the end.

What makes it difficult is getting votes if she sits with most designations of people. If she’s beside even one David, I don’t think she wins. If she sits beside Alison and Mike White, even then I think it’s a toss-up between those two (based on gameplay and real-life factors).

In fact, I think Kara Kay can win Survivor: David vs. Goliath if she sits beside Mike and Angelina, and that’s it. As great as her social game is and working with multiple groups of people in voting blocs, she’s been wrong on the vote way too many times, and there are too many game-players and likable people ahead of her where her social play won’t factor as heavily to the jury.

Overall Rundown: I have a hard time finding Kara winning Survivor: David vs. Goliath at this time. I once had her going far in my edgic pieces, but with being a tertiary factor in the game for most of the season, I don’t see a winning edit coming from Kara.
