4) Christian Hubicki

Out of all the castaways in this season of Survivor, Christian might just be the most memorable. If Sprint still did their fan vote, Christian would likely be the player awarded with the $100,000. He might just be one of the smartest people to play this game. Despite being a threat, he was able to survive tribal after tribal.

One reason for that was his strong social game. The genuine relationships he made with his fellow Davids, especially Nick and Davie, moved those players to use their own advantages to keep Christian alive. When Alec told Nick they were voting Christian, he could have easily decided to vote with the Goliaths since they had the numbers. It was the strong bond that Christian built with Nick that saved him during that vote.

Similar to Cochran in Survivor: Caramoan, Christian also shocked everyone with his physical ability. Not only did he absolutely dominate from puzzles since Day 1, but he proved to be a force in nearly every challenge. We’ll never forget that epic, six-hour fight for immunity when Christian was able to outlast… and outtalk Alec, who was the biggest physical threat of the season.

The problem with Christian’s game is that he relied on other people to make moves for him. Yes, you could reason that his social game was so good that people felt impelled to save him, but you can’t ignore the fact that players like Davie wanted to keep him around as a shield for themselves. Even when Christian saved himself with his own idol, it was Davie who warned him to play it. I’m hoping for Christian to return in another season so we can see whether or not he can use his strong social skills to take control of the game.
