1) Carl using the Idol Nullifier to blindside Dan

Who knew that a new production twist could create such an iconic moment in the first season it’s featured in! Even though the Goliaths had the numbers, it was the David tribe that held all the trick cards up their sleeves, waiting for the opportune time to play them. Once again, the Goliaths proved that they weren’t a united tribe, as Kara decided to part ways with Dan.

Kara was determined to play her own game and get rid of the person who was holding her back. As a result, she told the Davids that Dan had another idol and they wanted to flush it out. This was music to the Davids’ ears, as they now had the details they needed to make a decision about which advantage(s) they should play.

With all the hype on the Idol Nullifier, we might even forget that it was Nick’s Vote Steal Advantage that made this epic Tribal Council work. Nick decided to steal Alison’s vote causing a two-vote swing, which meant the Davids now possessed the majority. Dan played his idol, believing he had at least another three days left in the game, and then: *Bing*!

Carl used his Idol Nullifier to produce the biggest blindside in Survivor history. I say that because Dan was 100% sure that he was safe. No one would expect to go home after playing a Hidden Immunity Idol for themselves… until now! Circumstances have to be nearly perfect for an Idol Nullifier to be played correctly, so the Davids deserve tons of credit for this move because I can’t imagine an Idol Nullifier being played this well ever again.
