Lyrsa Torres was the last player from Survivor: David vs. Goliath to be voted out before the merge, and her introspect was an oft-asked question in her AMA.

There are a few tough spots for Survivor players to finish their game. Nobody wants to be the first one out, and coming in fourth place is a cruel defeat tantalizing close to the endgame. Some of the other harsh spots include the merge boot (especially if they aren’t on the jury) and one before that; the final pre-merge player.

Lyrsa Torres occupied that final spot and given the circumstances surrounding David vs. Goliath, it certainly gave her a lot of stories to tell. Thankfully for us, she offered up her perspective of the game in a Survivor subreddit AMA where most of the questions revolved around her part on the two biggest storylines involving her; Jacketgate and Eggsgate.

There were a few tidbits of information Lyrsa offered about what didn’t make the show, including her and Mike White’s partnership that became the Rainbow Coalition (both are members of the LGBT community), her proclivity for catching crabs, that she made songs about the rain with Christian and just how many funny moments were lost in the edit due to the show’s format.

However, because of where she finished the game, Lyrsa understandably had a lot of questions surrounding the pre-merge trip and Ponderosa before the rotation over. Thankfully, she and Natalie quickly bonded at Ponderosa, despite how stressful Jacketgate was at the time. She still stands by the defense of her jacket and talks about her Brisbane trip where she ate a pizza filled with ghost chili peppers.

Despite being a target from the first Tribal Council onward, Lyrsa fought hard to defend herself in the game all the way to the end. You better excuse yourself if you thought that she’d hold back in her Survivor AMA, as it’s a must-read to learn more about the vibrant player.
