It feels like this season has been breezing as fast as possible towards the merge. Survivor: Edge of Extinction has focused so much on the battle for the people fighting for another chance to play the game that we know so little about a fair number of people still in the game! Even with Julia getting two (!) whole confessionals this past week, Aurora enters the merge as perhaps the least visible character in the show’s history.
Edge of Extinction has been all about the Manu downfall, and it makes sense; this season’s competing players were all voted out from Manu tribe with the exception of Rick Devens of Lesu (who spent most of his time on Manu beach). This gives players like Kelley, Lauren, David and even Wardog an underdog upside heading into this merge episode, as there’s a core four that needs to pull off a Foa Foan feat.
Kama’s leaders have some decisions to make. They could have a 9-4 advantage in numbers if Aubry Bracco comes back, but even at 8-5 the odds that a Manu player comes back scorned at being blindsided means there’s a certain amount of comfortability. Comfort in Survivor is a death knell, and this could be the opportunity for a “strike force” type of alliance to form and take control of Kama after an easy Manu boot.
