Phase 2: The other shoe drops

Jeff Probst opens the second phase by reassuring Julie that fans of the game know how hard it is for the players after 38 seasons, saying that they know she isn’t a lunatic. Doubling down in Jeff’s favor, he called out Julia for giggling during Julie’s impassioned speech, asking her to explain herself.

  • Julia’s response was what got the ball rolling, explaining to Jeff that she was giggling while reassuring Kelley their plan was still on.
  • Rick Devens was quick to call that behavior out, saying that Julia made it clear she and Kelley were going with the Lesu Three at this vote.
  • Aurora was defensive on Lesu’s positioning, saying they are smart players who know that even though they are talking to both sides, they had the power to play on Kama’s mistrust at any point.
  • Devens called out how close Kama was with Eric, Joe and Aubry on the jury and Ron and Julie left out of the last vote, mockingly saying Kama players can’t trust each other.
  • Aurora said at least Kama owns their dysfunction while David, Devens and Wardog were quick to say they’ve owned their dysfunction from the start.
  • Lauren chimed in about how clear Lesu stood, while Aurora gave a roundabout allegory about how there is other marine life in the sea beside minnows and sharks capable of making moves.
  • While Wardog rambled about not getting what’s going on, Julia whispered to Aurora that she was giving away the plan, to which Aurora said nobody picked up on their real target; Kelley.
  • Devens took Aurora’s suggestion of Lesu being a possible group by saying to everyone basically, “Hey, Lesu Five plus Ron and Julie is seven; that’s enough to control this vote tonight.”
  • Julia got quite defensive against Devens’ call-out, saying she thought Lesu were so dysfunctional that they wouldn’t work together again. When Devens said Aurora threw the plan out, she got visibly frustrated, saying he was a passenger (not the pilot David alluded to last tribal).
  • Devens saw that Julia played into his trap card, suggesting that if this vote happened, they could wrest power away from the power players of the Kama majority. Wardog seemed very suggestible to this idea.
  • Julia doubled down on her defense, saying he’s scrambling because he was out on the “many plans” in play, while Devens countered by saying it makes sense, by that logic, to form his own.
  • While Julia flubbed in defense, Julie whispered to Wardog she’ll work with the Lesu group before agreeing out loud that Rick’s plan sounded like a great idea.
  • As David talked about the desperation going on with a smile on his face, Wardog pitched Aurora as a target to Ron, saying what he wants will be what Lesu votes.

Phase 3 will discuss the live aspects of this Tribal Council.
