The Amazing Race 31 episode 2 preview: Survivor teams scrape by

Though booking airplanes is not as important anymore, The Amazing Race 31 episode 2’s preview shows just how close one Survivor team was from catching up.

These Amazing Race 31 episode 2 preview videos will show elements of this week’s show set to air after Survivor on Wednesday at 9 p.m. ET.

If The Amazing Race’s season 31 premiere taught us anything, it’s that the Survivor teams are in for a world of hurt ahead of them. They finished in 7th, 9th and 10th out of 11 possible teams, although an Amazing Race team was eliminated first. That levels the playing field a bit, but the remaining teams in this reality show mashup are much more seasoned and experienced.

There is some camaraderie among the Survivor teams, however, as the first promo video for The Amazing Race 31 episode 2 shows Rupert and Laura catching up with Colin and Christie at the airport, explaining their woes in the game. We also get a confessional of Chris with Bret talking about the legendary Rupert Boneham “and his wife” (although it seems like the confessional cut out at the point where he said her name, Laura).

Bret and Chris are the highest-performing Survivor team after the first leg of the race, and it looks like they are planning on boosting their family upwards as opposed to cutting them down. We’ll have to see how Eliza and Corinne feel, as I’m sure the “villain” team (used liberally here more for their tea-spilling jabs last episode) has other ideas.

The second The Amazing Race 31 episode 2 preview video shows the teams waking up in Laos; the destination of their second leg of this game. In a show that’s very fast-paced due to the nature of the competition running and driving around cities, it’s nice to get a zen moment as these monks impart peace to the racers.

Let’s hope that the Survivor teams fare a lot better this time around!
