All it took was one Tribal Council to turn the Lesu 3 inside out as the endgame for Survivor: Edge of Extinction approaches.

After voting together for nine straight Tribal Councils, last week’s episode brought an end to the tightly knit Lesu 3. It was surprising to watch Kelley Wentworth, someone who is famous on Survivor for playing idols at the perfect time, get completely blindsided with an idol in her pocket.

What really took me by surprise was Wentworth’s comments once she made it to Extinction Island. It’s one thing telling the Edge of Extinction residents that she had an idol in her pocket, it’s another thing revealing that her closest ally also has an idol. How will this revelation affect Lauren?

If Wentworth comes back into the game, or if Lauren uses her idol within the next couple of Tribal Councils, then Kelley’s comments don’t change anything. However, with big physical threats including Joe, Chris and Eric to deal with, it won’t be easy for Wentworth to win her way back.

Even though Lauren lost her closest ally, there are a few other people who probably will be targeted first, namely Wardog and Ron. That being said, there isn’t really any massive threats still in the game at this point.

So when Joe, Eric or someone else returns from the Edge of Extinction, they will probably reveal that Lauren has an idol. That way they can use it as leverage to keep themselves in the game longer while putting Lauren on the chopping block.

Besides throwing Lauren under the bus, the Edge of Extinction residents now know everything there is to know about Hidden Immunity Idols in this season. They know that Kelley found the Lesu idol, Lauren has the Manu one, and Aubry probably told them about her idol.

When they re-enter the game, they can work it out that only Lauren has an idol. With Wentworth’s idol likely to be re-hidden, the player returning to the game will have a leg up in the search, knowing that one is actually out there.

Kelley revealing the details on the idols is definitely understandable though. She got completely blindsided and has to compete against challenge beasts like Joe and Chris to get back in. But if Lauren doesn’t use her idol soon, she better watch out for the player returning to the game.
