Survivor Edge of Extinction episode 13 power rankings: Playing favorites
4. Rick Devens
It’s odd to place Rick Devens in the middle of the Survivor: Edge of Extinction episode 13 power rankings, especially when so people are fairly hot or fairly cold on him. While he’s the odd man out and everyone in the game doesn’t want to sit beside him in the end (knowing he would win a jury vote), he has a specific Survivor winner upside to him.
Think of it like this; Rick has absolutely nowhere to go but through hell or high water. Hell is having to play the game traditionally, utilizing social dynamics and using strategy to pit others against themselves. High water is going on an immunity run, whether it be immunity challenges or playing idols (or a combination of both).
There’s one saving grace for Rick Devens, and it only happens if the CBS press release ends up being true. If a player like Kelley Wentworth, David Wright or Aubry Bracco makes their way back from the Edge of Extinction, they instantly become bigger targets than Devens. Their time cultivating jury sympathy is the only thing that can surpass Rick’s jury threat level.
