Survivor Edge of Extinction finale power rankings: The Final Five
1. Rick Devens
Though he’s pretty much public enemy number one, if there’s anyone telegraphed as the winner of Survivor: Edge of Extinction, it’s Rick Devens. The man can do no wrong, as he’s proven by himself in overcoming many obstacles, by others heaping praise on him at Tribal Council, and seemingly by Jeff Probst who remains in awe of him.
Guaranteed safety through at least the Final Five thanks to his Hidden Immunity Idol, all Rick has to do is either find another idol (impossible until he plays his current one) or win immunity to be guaranteed at least a shot at making fire at the Final Four; the kind of come-from-behind victory that

Rick Devens kind of needs to solidify his underdog story.
The only problem I have is a meta-narrative one, and that it’s become so apparent that there should be nobody else who has a shot to win besides Rick Devens in the edit. Sure, we’re starting to see the Lauren victory narrative start to sneak its way in, but it’s not nearly as forward as Rick’s edit, which bashes you over the head with confidence.
Nobody can beat Rick Devens at the Final Tribal Council. Can he make it there remains the last question we have of this season.
