With the Survivor: Edge of Extinction finale preview coming around, we now only have speculation and anticipation until the episode airs later this week.

The Survivor: Edge of Extinction finale preview will show the early portions of the finale Edge of Extinction Challenge from the beginning to the start of the second phase.

The best part about a Survivor finale is that nobody is guaranteed to win. For weeks upon weeks, it looked as though David Wright was destined to be the winner of Millennials vs. Gen X only to fall just short at the Final Four. Of course, they didn’t have the Final Four fire-making challenge back then, and Ken’s betrayal went against his loyalty pitch, but it shows that the favorite doesn’t always win.

That’s something key to remember as we approach the Survivor: Edge of Extinction finale, as the preview video shows the Final Five awaiting the fate of the 11 people on the Edge as they fight for their chance to re-enter the game on Day 35. Chris, David, Joe, Eric, Kelley (and everybody) have one task left; to defeat those who have shared a bond over the perils of defeat.

The first portion of the challenge is one that Aubry had exclusive practice rights to as part of an Edge of Extinction advantage, with players navigating through a series of rope obstacles that require players to dip around a series of wooden structures. In fact, that’s the only portion that’s shown in this tantalizingly short video, and unfortunately, it doesn’t look like Aubry has a strong start despite the advantage.

This will be an interesting challenge from a narrative perspective, as we’ll have the opportunity once Survivor: Edge of Extinction is over to look back and make sense of their story in retrospect. If anything, it will help salvage a twist that was once a surprise and now feels like an inevitability we need to move past quickly.
