If there’s been one complaint facing the Big Brother casting, it’s that they tend to cast people as archetypes and stereotypes. Kemi from this summer’s season complained about the producers in the diary room to talk and finger-wag completely out of character, fitting more into the box of “aggressive, sassy black woman” the show loves to push for the past few years.

The show needs someone like an Ali Elliott to breathe fresh air and a new perspective. She is the kind of player who will do what it takes to get it done, use her social skills to further herself and her team forward, and isn’t afraid to make the tough decisions to further herself.

To give an example, not to the degree that Tommy and Christie experienced this summer, but Ali and Patrick started on the same tribe together after being in similar circles at college. However, as he started to sink his own game quickly, she did not tie herself to that sinking ship. You need to adapt as your allies go on the block, and she has proven to make the necessary cuts.

She is a game player who seems capable of doing well in all facets of the game. If she has the patience to be the assistant to a popular YouTuber, she has the patience to play Big Brother; a game that requires being nice to massive egos.
