In a totally organic, off-the-cuff move, several Survivor: Island of the Idols players tweeted out #dontsleepon39 on Sunday afternoon ahead of the premiere.

It’s amazing to think that less than two weeks ago, we officially learned of the 20 people set to play in Survivor: Island of the Idols. At the same time, this is the last weekend before the 90-minute premiere set for Wednesday, September 25 at 8 p.m. ET, as we’re just days away from finding out just who these players are.

Just like when people were cautious about David vs. Goliath during the offseason based solely on the preview of the theme, however, there’s a noticeable hesitation in the Survivor fandom for Island of the Idols based on the format and mentor twist. Much like Edge of Extinction and Ghost Island, having time dedicated to one person’s visit each episode will throw the balance of the edit slightly off.

Don’t tell that to the players themselves, however, as this is their journey and their moment to shine after waiting for months for their show to air. That’s why several of the Island of the Idols castaways took the time to tweet out #Dontsleepon39, starting out with Karishma Patel on the Lairo tribe earlier this afternoon.

Much like San Juan del Sur players (I believe) kicked off the White Rice Wednesdays tradition and several of the Worlds Apart players repped the #Dirty30 season, this wasn’t a one-tribe effort. Jason Linden of the Vokai tribe followed, with other tweets from a host of players coming in a burst one after another.

Skeptic, unapologetic realist and two-time Survivor castaway and The Amazing Race 31 racer Eliza Orlins was a bit suspicious about a bunch of players tweeting the same thing at the same time. However, Jason cleared the air by saying the season is “decently dope;” an homage to Missy Byrd’s catchphrase entering the game (someone not on his initial tribe)
