The typical typhoon season is back in Fiji as the Survivor: Island of the Idols episode 2 photos hint at players trying to stay dry away from the rain.
It’s been a refreshing feeling for the Survivor press photos piece to realize that you might not have to gather representation for 20 players each week thanks to the lack of the Edge of Extinction twist. As much as loved to see Reem Daly each week, I’m glad that Island of the Idols will see at least one player definitively go home each week, as we’ll likely have a wider collection of photos for each of the castaways eventually.
For now, CBS has released the Survivor: Island of the Idols episode 2 press photos, showcasing 21 former and active players in the game. Yes, we have a new photo of Boston Rob Mariano and Sandra Diaz-Twine each, although this week we don’t have any spoilers as to who will be visiting Island of the Idols ahead of time.
Let’s take a look at some of those photos and reflect upon what we see here with what has been shown on TV.
Much like David vs. Goliath, we are in the middle of the rainy days of Fijian weather, with the Vokai tribe trying to keep each other entertained as the rain starts pouring down.
It seems like the rain made photo day for Vokai a difficult venture, as most players’ shots are isolated by headshots later in the gallery. At least we’re seeing more of Molly and Kellee’s friendship blossom in the game. They could be a fearsome duo in the game!
Though it seemed to still be overcast over at the Lairo tribe, the women seem to be getting enough time outside of the shelter to continue to build their bonds. Women seem to be running the Island of the Idols game early!
Despite not having a vote last night and missing out on key strategy talks, Elizabeth and Missy seem to be another strong pair that seem poised to have each others’ backs. You should keep an eye on them going forward.
Despite being the only person remaining on Lairo to vote for Vince, it seems as though Aaron isn’t giving up on his game, going fishing with Tom in a hope to establish worth for Lairo going forward. It’s weird for the strongest guy on a tribe to be on the outs of a first vote in Survivor, but here we are!
With the sun peeking through the clouds, the Vokai and Lairo tribes await Jeff Probst’s instructions ahead of the second Immunity Challenge of Survivor: Island of the Idols.
There’s a reward on the side of this Immunity Challenges, with spices and kitchen utensils available to the tribe who wins this challenge. That should spice up their rice and coconut intake!
The start of the challenge sees both tribes diving into the water to retrieve a ladder used for the rest of the challenge.
This challenge will combine team dexterity, strength and endurance, as the tribes will need to propel a ladder from the water into the air with a tribemate on it as they collect a bag for the next part of the challenge.
As shown by the Lairo tribe, after collecting a bag suspended in the air, they’ll need to carry the ladder to the beach for the latter portion of the challenge.
The fourth part of this challenge involves slotting the ladder into a contraption en route to the final parts of the challenge. How it will end remains to be seen.
