The sneak peek for episode 2 of Survivor: Island of the Idols showcases the first water challenge of the season, giving the swimmers of the cast their time to shine.

Warning: This sneak peek for Survivor: Island of the Idols shows the early stages of the Immunity/Reward Challenge in the second episode of the season airing this Wednesday.

After a superbly executed first Challenge in the premiere of Survivor: Island of the Idols, production is hitting the beach for their next challenge. It will also be a combined Immunity and Reward Challenge, which is probably going to be the pattern as long as Boston Rob and Sandra share airtime.

With the extended runtime for the premiere, the pacing for the first challenge was perfect, so hopefully, the edit will be able to retain that same quality with a standard time slot. This sneak peek released by CBS revealed that Survivor is staying true to their roots by keeping the rewards basic early on in the season. The winning tribe will receive a whole ton of herbs, seasonings, and some fruits and vegetables to spice up their meals.

Each tribe will be tasked with diving into the water and having to locate a ladder that is tied to the ocean floor. After they release the ladder, the castaways will carry it towards the shore and use it to retrieve a bag. As expected, the Olympic Medalist, Elizabeth Beisel was able to dive down and untie the ladder with ease.

For Vokai, Janet the tough chief lifeguard, and Jack the jungle boy successfully freed the ladder. We already knew that Elizabeth and Janet were strong swimmers because of their professions, but it was interesting to see Jack prove that he’s also strong in the water, continuing to legitimize his Ozzy comparisons.

Both tribes started off well and were able to retrieve their ladder without any setbacks. It did look like Lairo had a slight lead before the preview ended, although it will probably come down to the final puzzle portion anyways.
