Survivor Island of the Idols episode 6 press photos: Challenge blues
With the feeling of a pre-swap episode (considering the lack of camp shots), the Survivor: Island of the Idols episode 6 press photos are focused on challenges.
The Survivor: Island of the Idols episode 6 press photos will showcase the setups and tribes participating in the Reward and Immunity Challenges.
Each season, press photos before a tribe swap are a dearth of content or interesting information, as they usually express the moments before the tribe swap to illustrate best the chaos that is about to happen.
However, the Survivor: Island of the Idols episode 6 press photos released by CBS this week are somehow just as eye-opening for life at camp (with a few rare exceptions), as this week we have extensive looks at the tribes competing in two challenges this season. That’s right; we have another Reward Challenge, which has me wondering if Boston Rob and Sandra will only make brief appearances at the end of next week’s episode or if they will be snuck in.
Here’s Jeff Probst addressing the tribes at the Reward Challenge. It’s hard to see what the reward is (zoom-ins confirm Probst is tearing it up on his hamstring exercises), but it seems to be either chickens or some sort of orb. It’s really hard to tell (or I need to get glasses).
The first part of the Reward Challenge sees tribes carry a platform (and a person) with sandbags, with the person on the platform collecting keys or something. Again, it’s purposefully vague.
After the person retrieving the key collects it, the tribe must carry them across to the end of the platform and carry even bigger bags to the end of their platform before they can unlock their slingshot.
As you can see here, all the gigantic sandbags are placed on the platform before the players on each tribe can knock down three targets in the distance.
These are the targets down the range.
The Survivor: Island of the Idols episode 6 Immunity Challenge looks simple from a distance.
Even from this angle, all it looks like you have to do is collect bags of (two, then three) balls and shoot them at targets at the end of the challenge.
The big problem is that the entire tribe has to lift a bamboo cage across the course in order to accomplish their task.
As you can see from the unevenness of the Lairo tribe carrying the cage (Janet and Kellee upfront gives a titled look compared to Dean and Jamal in the back), there’s a strength barrier involved in this challenge.
To add to the difficulty, it looks like someone has to shoot from the cage, as Aaron is seen here trying to nail his shots from way downtown. With Aaron shooting and Missy retrieving the balls, it looks like the tribes will be even up until this stage unless Lairo is well ahead.
