From a deadlocked tribe to a brewing blindside, tonight’s episode of Survivor: Island of the Idols is bringing the most exciting tribal dynamics of the season.

Although tribe swaps bring an additional element to the game, last episode of Survivor: Island of the Idols saw a rather straight forward vote. The new Lairo tribe now has a Vokai majority, and they simply took out someone in the minority. However, tonight’s episode is shaping up to be more complicated than that. Here are three headlines to watch out for in tonight’s action.

1) Could Vokai go to rocks?

The new Vokai tribe is composed of four former Lairo members, and four from original Vokai. If this stacked tribe for some reason loses a challenge, we will be in for a very entertaining Tribal Council. Tommy and Aaron seem to be the negotiators representing their tribe, which means a consensus, if there is one, would probably come from them.

By the looks of the episode 6 preview, the two tribes appear to be deadlocked. Nobody wants to lose one of their members. Barring a visit to Island of the Idols, nobody on Vokai has any idols or secret advantages. With that in mind, we might actually see a tie vote, maybe even rocks if the two groups are unwilling to budge!

2) Can Karishma and Dean stay alive?

There’s only two original Lairo members remaining on the new Lairo tribe. On the surface it might look like Vokai will eliminate these two helpless players, but there’s more to it than that. There’s a reason why they decided to take out Tom, and that’s because he’s less likely to stick with them when the merge hits. He even mentioned that fact in his exit interview on RHAP.

It’s clear that the Vokai majority is looking for loyalty. Noura has been on the outs since the beginning of the season, and with Jason on the other tribe, she is without her closest ally. I think we might see the Vokai majority begin to put more trust in Karishma and Dean than someone like Noura. No matter which tribe goes to Tribal Council tonight, it looks like we’re getting a blindside!

3) Where are the idols?

At this point in time, there’s only one Hidden Immunity Idol in the game, and that belongs to Jamal. Kellee has one more opportunity to use her temporary idol, but that’s it. It’s kind of cool having relatively few advantages so far. We know that there must be another idol buried at the Lairo camp since Chelsea went home with one in her pocket, plus there’s bound to be an advantage of some type up for grabs in tonight’s Island of the Idols visit.
