A title renamed, two more challenges, and another mentor visit are highlights of the Survivor: Island of the Idols episode 7 press photos.
The Survivor: Island of the Idols episode 7 press photos displayed in this post will showcase highlights of the Reward Challenge and Immunity Challenge, as well as some photos of the Lairo camp life.
I can’t recall what the title of Survivor: Island of the Idols episode 7 was, but I certainly know that it was not “I Was Born at Night, But Not Last Night” until very recently. It seems as though the impact of Davie Rickenbacker cannot be overstated two seasons after his departure, as perhaps one of the players was inspired by him to offer that quote up once more in season 39.
CBS has released the press photos for Survivor: Island of the Idols episode 7 and, once again, we have another episode with a Reward Challenge, an Immunity Challenge, and a visit to the Island of the Idols. I hadn’t fully written off that proposition heading into this week’s episode, but I was antagonistic to it. However, SEG pulled off a great hour; I hope that continues into next week.
The Reward Challenge seems to start out simple enough, but with more than two weeks into the game for castaways, climbing up a rope that starts shoulder high (for most) will require teamwork to overcome quickly.
Here’s the layout for the rest of the challenge, which includes small platforms for which to throw sandbags onto to finish.
It looks like the Lairo and Vokai tribes are neck and neck when it comes to the first part of the challenge, as some members are waiting for the rest of the tribe before rolling over their travel cubes.
After rolling down the cube to the middle, one player per tribe will have to climb to the top to knock a key through a spring, up and over until it clears the spring.
Once the tribe’s cube has traveled down the length of the course, the key bearer will open up the tribe’s box of sandbags for which the players will need to toss onto the platforms seen earlier.
As mentioned off the top and hinted in this week’s episode, Sandra and Boston Rob will help a castaway from the Vokai tribe. We don’t see who they are, but this is an amazing shot nonetheless.
I’m not sure what Lairo is doing, but Jamal seems to be the center of attention. Perhaps they’re killing time with some charades?
At the very least, it’s great to see Jamal and Jack continuing to hang out after that very important moment and series of conversations they shared this week.
Kellee and Dean seem to be continuing to entrench their bond recently discovered through Survivor. Perhaps it will be enough for Karishma to go next, not Dean, if Lairo heads back to Tribal Council.
The Immunity Challenge seems to include one of my favorite tribe challenge activities; toss a bunch of coconuts into a basket. Many prolific characters have provided fun moments in this portion of challenges past.
Once the basket is filled with enough coconuts, a gigantic stack of puzzle pieces will fall over, with tribes requiring to compile them and solve an intricate puzzle at the end.
The puzzle itself doesn’t seem to be too difficult, as it’s simply the buff that’s on everybody’s necks, heads or other body parts.
