It’s hard to cover non-Loved Ones content when that episode airs, so the Survivor: Island of the Idols episode 12 secret scenes cover the rest.

Many times (but not every time), the Loved Ones visit becomes pivotal to the game of Survivor. In Island of the Idols, it became apparent to Noura that she was on the bottom of the Vokai group still in the game, offering to roll four deep into the Final Four if she, Dean, Elaine, and Karishma could flip on the majority. Dean saw fitting to ruin each of their four games collectively, and we’re now as close to officially congratulating Tommy Sheehan on winning the season as possible.

There’s not much that happened from the players outside of the Loved Ones visit, but what little did happen is fit to share in the Survivor: Island of the Idols episode 12 secret scenes. The first video expands upon Lauren’s reaction to winning her first individual Immunity Challenge of the season, proving to herself that she has more than just an excellent social game working in her favor.

Since the episode started right at the Loved Ones challenge (and considering we don’t see treemail on TV anymore), it makes sense that the second secret scenes video is of the teaser. Lauren accurately predicted the tribe would see their family, but the players had no idea they’d be tied to one another.

The third of the Survivor: Island of the Idols episode 12 secret scenes sets the expectation for the Immunity Challenge, with Elaine effectively rationalizing she’ll need to win immunity if she doesn’t want to play her newly found idol. Another ho-hum reflection that doesn’t add much to the episode at all.

However, the fourth and final of the Island of the Idols secret scenes this week show Boston Rob and Sandra exploring more of their island abode, traveling to the very top to reflect upon the view below. They seem to be fairly well-fed despite living in the wilderness, but their isolation from others and overall boredom driving them together will be an interesting note if we ever see these two come back to compete for the title of Sole Survivor ever again.
