With two players on the bottom throwing away their games, the Survivor: Island of the Idols episode 13 power rankings reflect those who benefitted from it.

7. Dan Spilo

Are we really doing this? Are we really about to give an entire page on the slideshow to Dan Spilo after the disaster of a merge situation we’ve been put in because of his actions and production’s refusal to remove him from the game at the proper time? With the proper amount of “moving on” Survivor production has done in the weeks following the merge, it seems like we need to talk about Dan as a player of this game.

That said, Dan is a terrible player in the game of Survivor. Firstly, he was picked to go on the Loved Ones visit reward yet decried others who weren’t chosen as losers back in camp. This displays his incredible lack of social gameplay and awareness, as his dismissiveness of others would rub anybody the wrong way, let alone someone you hope will vote for you as the million-dollar winner.

Secondly, he openly celebrates successes created by other players as if he has any say in their happening, doing so in a way that kicks others while they’re down and voted out of the game. Laughing at the demise of Karishma while not voting Karishma out shows that Dan would rather lord imaginary power while making no game moves and insists on being dragged to the end.

Dan Spilo shouldn’t even be in the game right now, but it doesn’t matter; even if he makes it to the Final Three, he is destined to receive zero jury votes. He is a number that beats his chest like he has something to provide other than hubris. It is regrettable and upsetting that his son is paying in any modicum of a way for the sins of the father.
