Have you ever wondered how Darth Vader, Yoda and more classic Star Wars characters would do in the game of Survivor? Wonder no more!

The final chapter in the Skywalker saga is finally here. Why is a site dedicated to the reality show Survivor talking about Star Wars? Besides the obvious fact that the Star Wars universe is the best thing ever created, these two franchises actually have a lot in common.

Alliances are made, there are plenty of twists to shock the viewers, and like Kylo Ren, most male castaways are shirtless. So how would these iconic characters fare in the greatest social experiment of all time? Let’s go one by one beginning with the guy who started it all.

Luke Skywalker plays the innocent farm boy

Let’s not talk about grumpy old, green milk slurping Luke. Instead, our focus lies on the good old farm boy who just wanted to go to Tosche Station. Even after blowing up the first Death Star, Luke retained that innocent, good-hearted attitude that would help him play a genuine social game.

He also has that tinge of darkness we saw in Return of the Jedi that could help him temporarily align with dark side force users. His strong physical abilities and connection to the force would make him a valuable tribe member, but also a huge target once the merge hits.

Could he win? Luke has the ingredients to be a true intergalactic Sole Survivor, but I could see him getting blindsided before Final Tribal Council.

Princess Leia could fight her way to the end

It won’t be an easy task to take out this scrappy leader of the Resistance and Rebellion. She’ll be able to forge strong alliances with those who have similar values to her, but Leia might run into some problems with those who align themselves with the dark side. The fact that her connection to the force is often overlooked gives Leia a good under the radar skill to have.

Could she win? Leia is someone who can get herself out of almost every hole, so she’ll either fight her way to the Final Three or get knocked out just before.

Darth Vader builds alliances out of fear

One of the most iconic villains in cinema history will have an uphill battle since he’s one of the biggest targets ever. His dominating personality and strong connection to the dark side will make him appear to be in a powerful position. If Vader has the right people on his tribe, he might be able to essentially blackmail them into joining him to be free from his wrath and gain his protection.

Could he win? If Darth Vader can make the merge, watch out! However, it’s more than likely that an alliance will rise up to blow Vader’s plans to bits before he gets a chance.

Obi-Wan Kenobi is your number one ally

This wise Jedi Master would be a great friend to have in Survivor. His strong grasp of the force and unflappable patience would make Obi-Wan an expert at knowing when to pull off a blindside. If you’re in need of just one more number to gain a majority vote, old Ben is your guy to wave his hand around and then you’re good. And if you’re in a serious jam, don’t be surprised if Obi-Wan sacrifices his life for you!

Could he win? Obi-Wan Kenobi isn’t the winning type, but if you strike him down, you’re not winning either.

Rey from Jakku his here to surprise you

After The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi, it seems like Rey’s strength with the force came out of nowhere. She quickly won over Finn, Han Solo, BB-8 and Chewie, showcasing her effective social game. Rey even proved that she could work with Dark Side users in the Last Jedi. Her progressive force powers make her a dangerous and underrated threat.

Could she win? Rey from nowhere would definitely be a winning candidate thanks to her story, likability and strong force abilities.

Yoda is too wise to win

This Dagobah swamp dweller might be overlooked upon first sight, but no one will underestimate Yoda’s unmatchable wisdom and connection to the force. Similar to Obi-Wan, our little green friend would make a loyal alliance member. His deceptive physical abilities might also come in handy in a crucial Immunity Challenge.

Could he win? Yoda will be far too large of a threat to bring to the end, although he will break the record for being the oldest castaway in galactic Survivor history.

Kylo Ren needs to chill

Survivor isn’t the best place to deal with anger management issues. Kylo Ren’s uncontrolled rage could make him an easy early vote. That said, his strength with the force combined with his ability to surprise his closest allies will make Kylo a fun castaway to watch that could lead to an unexpected run.

Could he win? The potential is there, but his inner turmoil makes him too risky to bet on.

Han Solo talks his way out

If anyone is going to get caught in lies and false commitments, it’s Han Solo. His charm and smooth-talking might be able to get him out of some trouble, but it might not work every time. Since he’s not a force user, he might be viewed as a good person to use for a vote or two. All I can say is Han Solo in Survivor would make for some entertaining Tribal Councils!

Could he win? Han could make a deep run if he’s not blindsided early, but he’d probably piss a lot of jury members off in the process, so I can’t see him winning.

Finn is our dark horse winner pick

Being a reformed stormtrooper has its benefits and shortfalls. The dark side contestants would be beyond determined to take out this traitorous rebel scum. However, light side characters would know that they have a loyal ally. It would be a tough line to cross for Finn, greatly limiting his options, but his funny personality and passion for protecting his friends would make him fun to watch.

Could he win? He’ll either get taken out as a light side casualty or he could even be a good person to bring to the end that might surprise you at Final Tribal Council.

Padmé Amidala could lose the will to win

This former Queen of Naboo has plenty of fight in here, much like her daughter. Her political experience would make her effective at negotiating with other players, forming effective alliances. That said, if her closest allies are taken out, she might just lose the will to win and quit midway through the season.

Could she win? If her alliance stays intact, she has a shot, but my guess is that she wouldn’t make it too deep into the merge.

Emperor Palpatine has unlimited power

Why do I get the feeling that Palpatine would thrive in an Edge of Extinction season? This super powerful Sith Lord would be a dangerous threat in Survivor. He has the ability to play a cunning social game, convincing people that it’s in their best interests to join him. The skill of masking lies as undeniable truth could bring Sidious the power he covets.

Could he win? Darth Sidious could take control of the season, but there’s a good chance that he’ll be overthrown shortly before he gets to the end.

Survivor comparison: Johnny Fairplay

Poe Dameron is our winner pick

The cocky flyboy of the newest Star Wars trilogy carries a lot of swag and personality into the game of Survivor. Poe would think of some of the most inventive plans to do all he can to stay alive. Out of the many characters on this list that are capable of producing entertaining blindsides, Poe would be near the top. His leadership and drive will make him a strong contender.

Could he win? If Poe can make it to the end, he’ll win, but it won’t be an easy road for this likable bad boy.

Here are a few bonus characters to watch out for:

Chewbacca: Can he win? If he doesn’t get disqualified pulling people’s arms off, he would make a protective ally that would be great to sit next to at Final Tribal.

C3P0: Can he win? With limited food and poor living conditions, I can’t see this cast tolerating this vocal protocol droid for longer than a week.

Lando Calrissian: Can he win? Much like Han, Lando would be a fun personality to watch and would probably bring some entertaining gameplay that might just land him in the Final Three.

Maz Kanata: Could she win? Nearly a match to Yoda’s lifetime of experiences, Maz would make a shrewd Survivor player that could orchestrate her way to a win through her skillful eyes.

Captain Phasma: Could she win? Phasma would make for a fierce competitor who could rise through the ranks, but I would be surprised if she doesn’t get blindsided.

Baby Yoda: Could he win? Nobody in their right mind would let Baby Yoda make the end, because even grumpy old Palpatine might succumb to his cuteness. So no, he can’t win because everyone will be worried about all the jury votes he would receive.
